Taking Steps Towards Drowning Prevention

 

 

Although National Water Safety Month is coming to an end, NESPA Members know that Water safety is a year-round mission.

Last year, the women of WITI (Women in the Industry) took powerful steps toward drowning prevention at their first-ever 5K Walk/Run - raising an incredible $15,000 to support Every Child A Swimmer, a nonprofit removing financial and accessibility barriers to swim lessons for kids.

WITI and the NESPA Foundation are proud to partner with Every Child A Swimmer to make swimming lessons accessible for every child.

Fueled by personal tragedy and a passion for prevention, ECAS leader Casey McGovern has turned her loss into life-saving action through scholarships and water safety legislation.

Thanks to partnerships like these, and powerful fundraising efforts like WITI’s 5K event, more children will gain access to critical swimming education. With drowning still a leading cause of death in children, this movement is saving lives, one lesson at a time.
